Institute of Directors (IoD)

CAF India was part of the 14th International Conference on CSR presented by Institute of Directors on 4 March 2020. Ms Meenakshi Batra – CEO, CAF India spoke on ‘promoting socially and ethically motivated community development projects’ with a special focus on CSR, social innovation and entrepreneurship and monitoring & evaluation.

Rotary Club Karnataka

Ms Meenakshi Batra – CEO, CAF India moderated a panel discussion on ‘SWASTH KARNATAKA’ at the 3rd Annual Karnataka CSR Conference in Bangalore held on the 28th February 2020. The discussion aimed to unpack role of CSR in Mental Health, challenges faced in implementing healthcare policies in the state, monitoring projects in rural areas, role of technology, and how corporate India can play a role in addressing misconceptions.

UN Global Compact

UN Global Compact is CAF India strategic partner. At the 3rd Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Summit 2019, CAF India presents its Case Study of Project Muskaan funded by Rolls-Royce supported and manage by CAF India and implemented by Dream School Foundation in Bangalore focusing on SDG4 Quality Education. At the same event, Meenakshi Batra – CEO was part of the plenary session on ‘Understanding the changing landscape of CSR’ moderated by Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, Secretary General, Indian Steel Association.

UBS Forum

CAF India engages with the UBS forum by sponsoring and participating in the CSR events organized by them round the years in various cities. In 2019, CAF India was part of the two day CSR Summit and Awards 2019 held in New Delhi as silver partner. Our team was part of a panel discussion on 'Impact Assessment is the CSR game-changer: Going From Proving to Improving'. We also curated a session on 'CSR Ecosystem: Addressing Challenges and Creating Opportunities for Sustained Social Impact'.

AVPN

AVPN is CAF India’s strategic partner. Meenakshi Batra – CEO, CAF India was part of the panel on ‘Mobilising corporate partners for social impact’ at the AVPN India Summit 2019. The revered panelists deliberated on mutual areas of synergy and challenges in making social impact the core strategy of businesses and how it requires a paradigm shift in the thought process.

UN World Food Porgramme

Ms Meenakshi Batra – CEO CAF India, was part of the panel on ‘Resourcing SDG 2 (Zero Hunger)’ at the Strategic Consultation on Progressing Towards achieving Food and Nutrition Security at an accelerated pace organised by UN World Food Programme. The panel discussion aimed to put a spot light on the prevailing engagement models/mechanisms on achieving SDG 2, existing across landscapes and identify the opportunities and challenges for public and private players and design a way forward.

Indo French Chambers of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI)

IFCCI is CAF India’s strategic partner in the CSR space. Meenakshi is the Annual Patron Member for the CSR Committee. On 23 July 2020, IFCCI, in association with CAF India and with the support of the Embassy of France in India organized NGO-Capacity Building Workshop ''CONNECT''. Ms Meenakshi Batra- CEO, CAF India was also part of the panel discussion 'Are Indo French companies leveraging partnerships effectively in pursuit of CSR programs" at the IFCCI CSR Conclave & Awards.

Devi Will Win the Race

Hailing from a small village, called Kuranda in Nagercoil, Devi, 14 joined Isha Vidhya (a unit of Isha Education) as a pre-schooler. In this short span of time, Devi and her family have been through several ups and downs.

The family had dealt a severe blow in 2015, when her father, who worked for a fish-net company met with a near-fatal accident. Her father survived but was unable to work. Having a courageous mother was a boon. Devi had barely passed Class VI, yet her mother was determined to educate her children and empower them to chase their dreams. There were times they slept on an empty stomach, but she did not budge from her commitment.

After two trying years, her mother finally landed a job in a fish-net company. Today, she is the sole bread-winner, earning a humble ₹5,000 a month. With no financial support from relatives or friends, the family somehow manages.

Devi is a scholarship student and her education is sponsored by employees of CISCO through CAF India’s Employee Giving Programme. Devi excels in sports. From 2015 to 2018, she has won first prize in running, high jump and long jump. She has also won multiple cash prizes. She aims to buck up in academics and excel there too.

Devi is a sportswoman in the making and with the right encouragement and guidance, she will make a name for herself.
